A tutorial video on how to film the Nintendo DS.
Tripod is used to keep the camera still,
The 1/8th inch mini cable is used to have sound only from the game.
The headphones are used to hear the game because plugging in the Mini Plug cable in both the DS (Lite) and camera will have no sound until you plug the headphones in the camera.
I use some blu tac to keep the DS (Lite) still.

When it comes to exporting the video onto the PC I use a Firewire cable because the quality is fantastic, however you need a lot of spare memory for this to work. It is roughly 1GB every 5 minutes of footage.

  • How do I turn the images right side up ?

  • @animefever564 use a video editing program.

  • 1 GB every 5 minutes? So 10 minutes is 2 GB? Well, I have about 7 GB left sooo, in 35 minutes of recording I'd have no space left on my computer C Drive, my D drive has a good amount of space but still...

  • Uncompressed raw does use up alot of memory but compressing it down to 100MB (depending on the length of the video) does make up for it.

  • wouldn't it get kinda annoying for the game to be on sideways

  • Not really, you only film it sideways so you can capture both screens on the camera. Then with video editing you can rotate the video to display it upright.

  • thanks =]]

  • lol, nice choice in music!

advanced wars is one of my favorite games for the ds...

  • kinda expensive stuff.

  • I have the same game!! xD

  • That music is from Advanced Wars: Days of Ruin

  • nice you chose the song from advanced wars dark conflict ... great game and music!

  • To record and play nice without moving your DS make a SNES controller mod connected to Slot 2 and use it so you won't have to press the DS buttons and move your ds :D

  • this music from advance wars days of ruin??

  • How do you record sound only?

  • I once got 70 on the Monty Mole mini game, but you still own at speed running!
