Brother, rememeber to say Jazak Allahu 'khayran' and not just 'jazak Allah' .. It is more appropriate and perfect with no possible negative meaning.
As this in the arabic language could refer to meaning may Allah reward you (good or bad).. As Allah says to the disbelievers in the hellfire in Surah an-Naba' (78) V.26 "An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes)."
