Biodiesel and Globalization (Clay McInnis)

Biodiesel fuel is sustainable because were utilizing closed looped practices by capturing carbon dioxide on the front end of the oils lifespan. Oil is the foundation of our country. Oil is harmful to the environment and not very cost efficient. Biodiesel fuel is made with used cooking oil, which is free and more cost effective. Biodiesel fuel puts equity back into the community by creating green collar jobs. Another major plus is it keeps America safe, because it is made here and it eliminates getting oil from countries that we are war with.
China is receiving knowledge about America being faster and more efficient than ever. They are modeling after the American Industrial Revolution in a more harmful and toxic way. Sometimes the pollution is so bad in China that you cant even see the sun. This not only affects the people in China, it affects everyone throughout the world.
When gas prices drop a lot of people are reluctant to pursue biodiesel, because we think the scarcity of petroleum is not a big problem anymore. When gas prices rise we want to be careful and conserve gas. Once we decide that gas isnt really a problem we stop trying to come up with new solutions. We stop innovation and progress and only sink deeper in our dependence on foreign fuel.
In order for us to protect ourselves as a nation, we have to start producing the things we need to make here in the United States of America. We must be dependent upon ourselves and not someone else. Our fate needs to be in our hands.
