Closed loop hydrostatic transmission, also known as hydraulic transmissions is used to convert a constant horsepower input to wide range of speed and torque combination, including reverse rotation.

  • @sk8erboi600 Lower efficiency than sliding gear transmissions - hydro-static transmission has about 75%-80% efficiency while sliding gear has 95%. However many advantages of hydro-static transmission system justify to use it in certain applications.

  • That should be constant SPEED input. Power depends on output requirement.
