This is how I made 4 legs for free out of some old 2 x 6s removed from a remodel. Cutout and sanded in less than 2 hours. This is a way to get around not having a 4th axis.

  • @gearhead1971, this video was made to show how to makes legs without a lathe. Many cabinet shops have 3 axis cnc machines, but no lathe equipment. This is "a last resort" style method. Not to mention they were free, and I recycled old trash. This same method can be used to achieve any size leg or 3d object like a 16' long canoe mold.

  • If you ever need more... contact me, I can turn one in 2 min.

  • That's very cool, certainly more convenient than splitting the board and turning it. Less chance of it cracking on a lathe since it's repo wood.

  • Man, talk about doing things the hard way. I assume you don't have a cnc lathe?
