These are two nests of red-bottomed bumblebees that we found on the sidewalk near our home. As you can see Ruth managed to capture a good shot of the two queens in the bigger nest as well as some nice stills. This is a re-upload.

  • probly the worst nesting spot they can choose

  • @trooper59 they live in smaller colonys and they'll usally never sting you unless you hit them or have bad intentions cuz they can smell it

  • don't step on those

  • This is interesting, but what's with the weird hippy guitar? lol

  • Go kick the nest and fun will be had by all.

  • Very cool . It just seems that the sidewalk is a bad place for a nest.

  • how are bumblebees different from regular honey bees, behavior wise. Are they more docile?

  • then unexpectedly, a car runs both of the nests over.

  • Wow! Good shot! These look simuliar to the ones that made a nest in my Bird house this year.
