I'm doing my citizenship right now. I've already got my interview/oath date but I won't be able to vote in the primaries (which is something I wanted to do)...will have to wait for the general election. Lots of long-time permanent residents are doing their citizenship these days even my parents. People really pissed about the way the immigration debate has turned into an all out attack on the hispanic community.
5 years. If you are married to a US citizen you have to wait just 3 years.
