Well put. There are several conservatives that are disgusted with their party because it's not as conservative as it once was. I think Ron Paul would've been a wonderful choice. It's funny and sad how when people make sense in politics they get shunned.

Real conservatives HAVE no party.

The Republican party is just liberal-lite.

And MANY of the Democratic party is just neo-con-lite as well...I prefer real liberals OR real conservatives though...I know...two very different sides...but as long as their REAL...neocons aren't "real"...their senseless and bureaucratic...their like a robots that was kicked in the head a few times.

After Ron Paul dropped out, I voted for Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party. Seems to me, there's a party for real conservatives, just a small one. There are also a plethora of tiny third parties for conservatives to congregate in.

I like the Libertarian Party and we'd be better off with them certainly but disagree with them strongly on major moral issues where they are permissive with regards to evil, such as abortion.

Prayer in public school is fine as long as it's not mandated, led or even encouraged by the staff.

I'd much rather solve the problem by eliminating the public school system. Then schools could choose to be secular or religious, without the expensive, wasteful, under-performing mess of the public school system.

Busting the teacher's unions would solve the under-performance issues and simply clarifying once and for all the issue of prayer in school would suffice I think. The public schools cannot tell a student they must pray OR they cannot pray. The school and its employees must stay neutral on the issue but someone interpreted this as absolutely no religion in schools PERIOD for/by/from anyone which in reality is a violation of the Constitution.. not the praying itself.

Parents and communities must be involved in education, even if it's not traditional homeschooling. Giving it over to the government fails because it's not community and family-focused. Parental involvement is the principal factor determining whether or not children do well in school, not teacher salary, prayer, or anything else.

Public schools are disconnected from the community and end up as institutions for government social indoctrination instead of education. They should be abolished.

But when you limit someone else's right to express their point of view, you are infringing upon their rights. I think, regardless of what religion you are, you should be able to pray in school at your own discretion. It shouldn't be mandatory or anything, but whats wrong with allowing individuals to practice their faith or express their views and interests? It's this protectionist attitude that is killing our social structure in this country. If you don't want to believe then don't believe.
