  • How much history in one organ!

    Great emotion

Absolutely correct. After Bach died, his estate was essentially liquidated so his widow would have some money to live on. None of his instruments were listed as having been inherited by any of his sons and kept in the family. Bach also had a pedal harpsichord which basically "disappeared" immediately after his death. What a terrible loss! I would have thought that at least C.P.E. Bach would have tried to keep a few of his father's instruments but apparently not.

  • I don't think that it is a real historical organ of the Bach's days but a modern copy placed in the Bach Eisenach museum to illustrate what could have been the organs used by Bach in this house for his daily training exercises. None of the inner object of the Bach house family in Eisenach was preserved. However Bach lived in Eisenach during in the first 8 years of his life and his father wasn't an organist. So I doubt any organ ever existed in this house during that time.

  • awful ! siga to pragma re paidia :(

  • @Totennebel its Buffy

  • Wow, some of these small organs have such a magical sound, nice to see these pieces of history being preserved for all time.

  • @SlovenskyRaj To supply this positive with air, the player has to pump the bellows with his right foot. It looks and works quiet similar to a reed organ!

  • This must be heaven! Such a nice and talented girl playing Bach in his House on a nice Pipe Organ. 8-O ;-)

  • Do they still play the organ positive there with the bellows that you pull with the leather straps? That was a most memorable demonstration as it required audience participation. It was funny because the lady wasn't pumping at the right rate so the notes went flat at the end. The garden in the back is just gorgeous, too. Usually the person who plays the instruments is someone in period clothing. I wonder how this young woman got to play.
