Imagine Ian in the sixties...
-
@bigpimpin110011 At one point Hislop does say "and somebody told me that you like strawberries"
-
When Paul put the wig on he looked like Susan Boyle.
-
"One of your irritating things is that you immediately find the weakness in my argument"
This was such a funny episode. I love The Beatles (it's difficult not to like them).
I definitely ascribe to the idea that when people tell you all the bloody time that a band is amazing it gets incredibly annoying and you're always going to be slightly dissappointed. But obviously, that doesn't mean The Beatles weren't a great and important band - you don't have to like everything they did......
:)

I'm going to agree with Ian here. I can respect what the Beatles did and their significance, but I don't have to enjoy them and be jumped on if I (shock-horror) call one of their songs 'OK'. This actually happened recently. The Beatles isn't to everyone's taste. If someone doesn't like it, they should be able to say so without being told that they are wrong.

@ThreeWordsFirstWord this is simply not true you moron they both hate Piers Morgan and I don't think Merton has a particular love for Strawberries
-
@sdbxnbbl91 ;D truth hurts
-
@beatlefan247 Whatever
-
@sdbxnbbl91 the beatles are for people who know what music is
-
The Beatles are for indie music nerds.
Ian Hislop, if you lot are too stupid to realise, he is putting in all the things that Merton likes...judging by the unnecessary length of the comments on this page, you do not get it....it requires no analysis...it is a comedy show.
