True heroes unbelievable how they can condition out fear with training I couldn't imagine I could ever do what they did and I consider myself pretty tough

He didn't mention the diversionary force made up of most Canadians who also participated in this raid as well. This force was a used to help trick the Germans into thinking it was an allied invasion. The St. Nazaire raid was a great raid but not the greatest.

@azrock1984 They did nothing of the sort. All those captured were sent to POW camps.
The British were fighting in uniform, thus protected from summary execution by the Geneva Convention. Whilst not particularly observant on the Eastern Front, the German Army did tend to follow the convention on the western front.
