Some Trooper TIPS
88-91' 2.6L(4ZE1) Adj. valves often
(they tighten & burn)+ Never overheat it!
THE LUGNUTS! if they're overtightened they crimp at the ends, Put a tap (12 x 1.5mm) in a vise and run the lugnuts over it,
if not they'll take out your wheel studs!
85-87' 2.3L(4ZD1) keep "free play" in the clutch pedal, adjust cable, clutch plate can push the crankshaft forword wearing out the end play shims (if the shims drop out) it can cause irrepairable engine damage. GOOD LUCK!

Do you have gas engine trooper? some picture or vid of the engine? I would love to watch that, here the Trooper was ensambled by ColMotores in Colombia and ended production in 1996 (We owe one, is shorter, 2 side doors). All are gasoline carbureted 2.6 Liter engines.

BF Goodrich All-Terrain for road and occasional off road use, excellent on mud, grass, snow and tarmac, if you want to do more off road rough stuff then BFG Mud Terrains...and the BFG's do last 30-40,000 should easily be achieved. I have even fitted BFg All-Terrains to the rear of my Ford Transit jumbo van lol, the best tyre in the world!!
Why would you call this Trooper a p.o.s.? They know when you call them that you know... it's gonna remember at the worst possible time and leave you stranded somewhere BAAAD.

Well, my old trooper really isn't a p.o.s., but until recently the motor was lol. I paid $800 for it, and it had 300k miles on it. Currently doing a complete rebuild on the motor and adding a few much needed extras, new clutch, lockers, better carb, bigger cam, ect. But it really lives up to its name. It truly is a "Trooper". When put to the test it'll out perform other suv's, jeeps, ect. in its class.

No problem at all. I really need to get some better video of it going through that first part all the way. More videos to come!
