it was non-agression pact .. many countries had it with germany .. so all of them were allied with germany: denmark, britain, latvia, turkey, russia, poland???
go read again ...
-
I suggest you to read that treaty.
-
u are mistaken ...
The pact was intended for a period of ten years.
The pacts were intended to prevent western or Soviet powers from gaining influence in the Baltic States and thus encircling Germany
-
Yes, but this treaty also tells that in war they have to help each other. So officially Estonia and Germany were allies when germans entered to Estonia.
-
estonia and germany never been allies... German–Estonian Non-Aggression Pact was signed in Berlin on June 7, 1939
-
actually german invasion into estonia was pretty slow compared to latvia and lithuania .. while their army was resting a bit in latvia there was already lot of fighting against red army in estonia .. not big battles ... and there were even volunteers from latvia ... everyone belived that germans will free estonia ... they found out truth a bit later

Officially Germany and Estonia have never been at war, in 1941, it was true that German army invaded in Estonia, but Estonia that time was already occupied by the Soviets. Officially Germany and Estonia were allies (treaty wich was signed in 1939 with Estonia and Germany), so where the first Germans appeared in Estonia, estonians welcomed them and helped them as much they could to push Soviets out from Estonia. Estonian particans were supplied by the German army by weapons, food, and ammo.

What is the Estonian nationalist song from the first period of independence called, which goes something like 'olerilla olerilla' etc, sorry that's probably nothing like it but you probably get what I mean.
The German invasion of Estonia was better than whatever the Russians could do. Still Estonia was an occupied state (and it was illegal) the Germans were more human than the Russians. Also the Germans were civilised creatures, they understood when it was Christmas and wanted to join the celebration. While the commies only wanted kill and destroy as much as possible.

My grampa told that when germans came to their village, they left weapons at doorstep and started to sing and dance with other villagers but Soviets were just looting and stealing.
