@spouthog Not really; El Alamein is one of the most celebrated battles of WWII. In modern media the British are all but written out of WWII because Movies, TV shows, game developers are usually in the US and it's US stories they want to tell (Eg, there's not a single Brit in Saving Private Ryan) so, sadly, it all looks like the US beat the Nazis alone. For some reason war films about British operations have fallen out of style, especially in the UK. Doesn't mean they're forgotten though...

It is because of these men that we live in a free world today. We owe our thanks to the multitudes who gave of themselves in order to protect the world.

My grandfather fought and was badly wounded at the battle for Tobruk. It's a shame that the war in North Africa is all but forgotten.
