Iverson's team did not have the best record, Nash team did both seasons, and as good as Tony and Manu have been they where never at Shaq and Kobe's level.. Meaning you never said as a player, fan, or insider, you could build a team around them.. The kings had the best record when KG won but had more talent so Webber and Kobe who had better stats that year got Shat on lol... Hell through in Tracey for that matter that year. @bleacherbum102 : no when iverson, duncan & kg won it their teams had the best record (or 2nd best)....so it almost always been the best player on the team that has the best record (or at least best in their conference)....& then nash & the suns didn't have the best record when he got the 2nd MVP....also duncan had parker & manu so how can you say he had "less to work with"?

@imsljr420 That is simple the voters at the time felt Shaq and Kobe because they played together didn't deserve to be MVP's of the regular season. ( Shaq for all his greatness has 1)The system then was; give it to the player who had less to work with. Iverson, Duncan, KG. Then Shaq is out of LA and the voters changed the system yet again. It went to the best player on a team who had the best record. Dirk, and Nash. While Kobe was getting a trash team to the offs. (in the west mind you)...

@rowdyalejandro : i'll give him credit he played great against the spurs in 01 but who guarded him? antonio daniels, derek anderson?....duncan & robinson concerned with shaq so kobe got to the rim because of that....ok 4get all that he played great in that series i hate to come off as a kobe hater im just a realist...& the reality is he wasn't the best player on his team during the 3peat he was a sidekick...put the team around him at 22 & they don't even make the playoffs.

@imsljr420 Fail so much????? Only less than the rest of the league, yes and watched him carry the Lakers trough the loaded Western Conference at 22. Do you remember Kobe against the Spurs in 01? He embarrased the Spurs frontcourt with dunks after dunks after layups after winning shots off offensive rebounds and that to me makes a HUGE difference. And stop with that nonesense argument of his first 3 rings you know that the threepeat happen because Shaq and Kobe not only Shaq.

@rowdyalejandro : 3 of his rings he wasn't even the best player on his team & that to me makes a HUGE difference.......i've seen kobe fail so much in fact lakers are actually better without him than they were without shaq or pau (winning percentage wise). no kobe they can still win games ....no pau or shaq they go on losing streaks
