Uploaded to mark the 22nd anniversary of the untimely passing of Peter Tosh.

Born Winston Hubert McIntosh on 19 October 1944, he was murdered at his home on 11 September 1987 aged just 42 years. Robbery was said to be the motive behind the act, but as a man known to speak his mind, especially with regards 'politricks' and 'crime ministers' his murder was viewed by many, as a means to silence him.

Augustus Pablo also left us on 18th May 1999, aged 45 years, as the result of a collapsed lung.

When we look at their contribution to reggae music, its hard not to feel sad as there was still so much for them to share, but I'm heartened by the fact that their legacy remains...

Many suppositions as to the meaning behind the lyrics of this tune including them being aimed directly at politicians, Bob Marleys' role in the One Love Peace Concert, or how Bob Marleys funeral was handled. Would be interesting to see what others think is the meaning behind the lyrics.

Augustus Pablo version FTW. I've got a version of his on vinyl I like even better. Burial is, to me, one of the most fundamentally beautiful songs I've ever heard.

My journey of finding new versions and interpretations of this song has been amazing. Such a classic.
