Fun With the Prelinger Archive: All video and sound clips used are in the public domain

Video: Reg Kehoe and The Marimba Queens

Music: Vincent Metal

I couldn't hear Frank DeNunzio's bass over the marimbas, so I searched for something that would do his wild antics justice.

In the spirit of public domainism, you're free to copy my leet video editing skills and post this all over the internet so long as you post it in full with my "Billybughead" credits and attribute me (and of course the original artists).

Or make your own version with your own song, since the YouTube community needs a new game now that "tag" has run its course...

  • I meant to say, my mom-in-law is playing maracas in the film.

  • wow, cool

  • And I've seen this done for vintage Charleston footage and a variety of dancehall music...

  • That was strange!

  • lol well in the original you hear the marimbas, and then the guy starts flailing his bass but you don't hear a thing from his instrument. So I had to help him out a bit lol

I'll bet there's a blackturtleus song concept in there SOMEWHERE ;-)

  • Loved it!

  • Thanks for the compliment, and thanks for finding this gem for us...

  • hahah this is fucking brilliant

  • Wow, I have NEVER seen a bassist play like that before! Great video!

  • if you've never had the opportunity to see the original video....check it out. THe bassist goes apeshit at one point and it's -hilarious-

  • My husband's mom was the girl shaking the marimbas with Reg and the Queens, and we just discovered this hilarious clip. She is 82 years old today and still plays her marimba in her condo in Sarasota Florida! From the whole family, thanks for a great laugh.

  • Gotta a chance to play with the bass players son, who also plays upright bass, but is a more accomplished blues guitar player..That cat is nuts!!---you did a fantastic job with the video!!!KUDOS!!

  • LOL that was funny!!! Very strange i'll have to admit but HIGHlarious!!
