This is a short film about information. Although most of us think we know what we mean when we say "information," we sometimes confuse the medium with the message. This is a companion piece to our film about architecture. For more information and a hi-res downloadable version of the film visit: http://www.maya.com/the-feed/what-is-information-architecture

  • :45 "Do [I] see your favorite mug?" Yes, I do. I don't have to know which one is your favorite to be able to see it. I see all of them.

  • Very Good. Tnx

  • noo the medium is the msg!!! :(

  • what program did you do the presentation on? I need the "information"

  • Nice presentation, congratulations! but I'm not so sure about this definition, you are saying that information is just meaning and not the actual media used to convey it, most of the time we uses the term information to mean both of these combined and it's very useful to be able to do so. But I agree information dose have to have some internal logic or structure aka meaning to make it information, but it also needs to be embodied in some form of symbol or else it can't be exchanged.

  • You sir, just made my day. You made something boring to somethin interesting... (Sorry for misspellibg. I'm using my iPod.)

  • Hi we would like to use your video as the featured video on our blog called "infomention". Do we have the permission?

Feel free to google 'infomention' to find your video on our blog. Thank you.

  • It's not a difficult concept. Why should terms always refer to tangible things? Understand information as a measure, instead of as something that must fractionate into units. That's one of the gifts of language, it lets us talk of processes and functions as if they were objects in the world. Get your head round that and it will free your thinking up ten fold.
