Comedy Central was originally The Paramount Channel, airing serious programming combined with comedy programming. Films from the Paramount library were also broadcast, including Roman Holiday, THE GODFATHER, the Indiana Jones films and the Star Trek films.

Bye bye and thank you Paramount Comedy, I remember the first night of that....seems like forever ago. Welcome Comedy Central. Lets hope Nite at Nite isn't too far behind, 16 years later than when it was supposed to be!
