  • I wish I had known your dad was still around. I took lessons from him at the Bedford Conservatory in the late 50s. I was in Bedford in June and I would have liked to stop in and visit him. I was a member of the guitar band he had that won on the old Gene Carrol amateur show

  • hi , i just spoke to my dad about you. what is your name and ill pass that along.

ill give you his number if you want to call him. thanks, john III

  • My name is Frank Jakubecz. I was a student of his from 56 thru 60. Then I left to go to college. I ended up moving to West Michigan in 72. My dad recorded two of the Gene Carrol shows that we did with the guitar band. I dumped them off to CD. Think he might get a kick out of listening to them??? I could make an extra copy and mail it to him if he was interested.

  • Thanks so much for posting this clip. What an honor it was to have spent some time studying with your Dad. I just ran across an online reference in Billboard magazine to him playing in NY in 1946...!

  • Great to see your dad again!
