They are fun & incredibly interesting to live with, MAKE BAD PETS!! Many people try, but they die young. Opossums have incredibly sensitive dietary needs. Feeding on dog&cat food KILLS! It causes fat buildup behind eyes making them crosseyed, and the lack of proper calcium & phosphorus ratio causes severe metabolic bone disease which cripples then quickly Kills. Females get urinary tract infection easily, and both sexes are prone to skin die-off.
Don't try to raise them without proper training

Really lovely! I have a rat with a two tone tail that looks very possom like lol. Do you ever get any aggression from him? I've heard so many horror stories about these lovely creatures, which is sad. People mistake them for 'giant rats' and they suffer accordingly. I don't think they are available as pets in the UK, but I would own one anytime.

I just found a baby possum on the side of the road. The mom was dead and so were all of the siblings. I've been looking online for a detailed diet sheet but can't find anything of value. I've raised countless baby squirrels to release and I want to help this little guy out. Can you please send me info about the formula you used and the diet Stew was on? I'm feeding Esbilac puppy formula right now to my baby. Thank you!

my dog killed a female possum with 8 babies in her pouch and i was thinkin about makin a pet out of one and giving the rest away. is a pet possum more like a cat or dog? and would you have another one if you could

Shit the other day I was on my porch and one of these little bastards almost climbed up my freaking leg! If I wouldn't have kicked it it probably would have bitten me and I could have got rabies...fuck that! It was kinda cute though, it was all white...
