Noise started at around 3am lasted around 20 mins, then stopped started again at 4 and went on until around 5:45am. Sounded like a hovering plane, then a strong wind, back to hovering plane. No planes were visible and it was damn near all night.

I live close to North Bergen (2 towns away) and hear this sound at night all of the time. Years ago, we called PSEandG (our power company)in a panic to inquire about it. They told us not to worry, they let the steam out of their huge steam pipes during the night, which cause this sound. The pipes are huge, look like silos. The power plant is located a few miles away from North Bergen.
