First off I'd like to state that Bill Maher says that people who believe in God are delusional. And secondly why do you give Jesus the credit(or partial credit) for all the teachings. It's just a story about that person, and the is no absolute proof that he was even an individual(meaning that he was made up of many different people).

According to both Will Durant and Albert Einstein, only a historical idiot would pretend that Jesus didn't exist or, that his teachings were invented by other people. If you want to go up against those two and all of the known evidence, be my guest...

@richardaberdeen The first New Testament is the oldest source citing Jesus as a definite person, and it was written around 300 AD. So go ahead show me a primary-source written about Jesus; I am open.

@Gurkan8994 That is entirely false. The earliest fragment of John traces to 55 AD, most of NT 70-90 AD. Several letters of Paul that reference the story of Jesus, considered authentic by every legitimate historian, including First Corinthians, date between 50-60 AD. Thus, the story of Jesus is very contemporary, similar to as if somebody wrote a biography of MLK or Kennedy 10-20 years after they died. Documentation for this is available in Britannica, Wikipedia, Durant and many other sources

@richardaberdeen I accept that Jesus was very likely an actual person, but comparing those evidences to the facts we can find on MLK and JFK is a massive difference, because persons who lived around MLK and JFK are still alive, and we can examine the written piece to completely indisputable evidences of audio,video, and photography we have of those people.

@Gurkan8994 The sayings and actions of Jesus in the first 4 gospels represent a singular coherent highly advanced mind far superior to any other mind known in human history. That is the conclusion of Will Durant, perhaps history's most educated man, Einstein had a similar conclusion and so does anyone else who has studied the evidence fairly. Maybe you should consider why people for centuries continue to quote Jesus and why still today they represent everything that matters for human rights.
