The United Kingdom Is made up of 4 countries - England, Wales, Scotland and Nothern Ireland.
Great Britain = England, Wales and Scotland (Not Northern Ireland because it is not on the same Island as us).
The UK is not a country is it a state.
Great Britian is not a country it is an island.
England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales are the countries.

cont.... that there are parliaments in Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast (the capitals of the home nations outside England)- they can decide many policies except foreign policy. Anyone from the 4 home nations can call themselves British but not everyone can say they are English. England is the largest and most populous home nation but there are 10 million Britons who are NOT English. It is complex.
shes not scottish ._.

What they are saying is England, Scotland and Wales are three countries physically joined by land mass to make Great Britain, when we include Northern ireland we call it the UK. (united kingdom)
