thats really COOL.....that old label. Definitely NOT the label that CHESS used in 1966! It was a multi colored one...like your other Billy Stewart singles. Later ones might have been the light blue Chess label, but that one there is really a rarity! (and yes..they were probably using up old labels......now and again, you find a "maroon script" VeeJay label single with a master number from after late 1959 (when they went to the black/oval/rainbow design...)

Thank you so much for posting these Billy Stewart gems. I can't think of too many other artists whose music has affected me so much emotionally all my life as Billy Stewart has. He had the ability to reach the depths of one's soul. His early death was a great loss to the worrld.

Nice song, I'm glad you enjoyed it every step of the way. I got a question, why did they had the song with the blue Chess label from the late 50's pressing? This is a rare find, I have several Chess 45 with that same design, but other songs with that are found on the black Chess label and the blue/white label as well. This one is a rare 50's pressing of a 60's classic.
I don't know the reason why this record was pressed on the late 50's style label, perhaps the pressing plants were using up old labels that they had in stock, much like how some of the Tamla and Gordy (Motown)records from the late 60's were pressed on the early style label until they were used up.
