@yisacknayrabin Actually, it's very close to the true reaction. Look up aluminum foil and HCl.
-
@jachnoon1 That was what I initially thought, but the water in the bottle was premeasured to 70ml, so each beaker was identical in volume. All the beakers contained water.
-
@shadeaufax Well, Hydrochloric Acid among other acids don't burn through glass or more specifically, Silicon. Although, from what I have personaly seen as far as sodium in water, I do agree with the 'Highest rated comment' above.
-
Why isn't it burning through the beaker?

5:14 wtf? he never risked his life.....

liaaaaaaaar none of this is HCL...HCL is yellow when it is conc. and it liberates fumes..

maybe not odorless but you will know when you get a whiff of it. My chem teacher let us take a whiff of the vapors and you definitely know that it is acid. Burns the shit out of your nostrils.
-
it would be more fun if it was the acid one!
lol
This trick is obvious to anyone who has studied some basic chem. None of the beakers contain acid, they're all water. He throws in chunks of sodium or potassium (search youtube for videos of these reactions with water) Any element in rows 1&2 will react with water in the same way as it does in his trick. HCl acid does not react with metal like it looks in this video!
Finally he switches the beakers around so that Holly doesnt know where her choice is so that he can drink any of the three left

@aaaaaaaaandreas Although I agree with you that it's not HCl. I don't think it could have been sodium or potassium. Those two are pretty unstable and would create flames and pop. It could be lithium however.
