The Dubuque Chamber of Commerce had a gathering in downtown Dubuque today to celebrate two businesses: 1) a well established Dubuque Business that has always done an excellent job of portraying the Dubuque community in a positive light - namely Julien's Journal and 2) a newly established business, JIFFD, that promised to bring a wealth of people to the Dubuque area this coming April. Julien's Journal was bought last August by Gina Siegert who has a ton of experience in the publishing business and obviously cares deeply about her newly aquired business and the Dubuque community. JIFFD stands for the Julien International Film Festival of Dubuque -- a venture that was founded by Michael Coty and Christopher Kulovitz. The actual film festival will take place in April of 2012 at various venues in Downtown Dubuque and will put on display independent short and full-length features by film makers from all over the world. Julien's Journal is currently in the process of putting together a website which will be accessible at http://www.juliensjournal.com, but the publication itself continues to be in circulation as it has been for the past 36 years. For more information about JIFFD you can either go to http://www.jiffd.com or on their sponsor's website at http://www.RundeAutoGroup.com
