A comparison of a 5 year old Honda 2000i and the new CPE power sports inverter 2000 watt Generator. Purchased from Costco

The CPE's are stack able and you can twin them for ~ 3000watts with the CPE cable, just like the Honda. It will take a special cable that cost ~ $100.

  • Hello... I am thinking of getting this Honda EU20i. I am off grid with little energy consumption.

    A few low energy light bulbs & a ceiling fan

    However, I have a 46" Sony 1080p LCD TV & Home Theatre System...ha ha!!. I do like my movies :) Will the generator provide enough juice to run this baby? It's the power surge I am more concerned about, when you turn it on.

    I have a 1000 watt inverter, 40 Amp Charger, plus two 12 valt lorry batteries to store the power;

    to give the generator a rest :)

    Depending on on the home theater system, you should be fine. I would however use a decent UPS that would take the power spikes out from what the generator makes. This would protect the electronics in the TV and home theater system.

  • Thx for this... but i just bought the 73538i for 250$ is that a good deal? its brand new... and also all i want to use it for a pitching machine for my baseball squad do u think it would be good for that?

  • @jtvsports

    That depends on how much power that "pitching machine" needs at start up. Could be close to the limit and may cause you to have to restart a couple times.

  • Thank you, I was just about to go buy one - that is why I Google'd it at the last second here - it goes to show you - you get what you pay for - every-time.

    Honda - here I come.

    Thank You again

    Depending on your needs the Honda is a good choice. However I do like the CPE and at 1/2 the cost of the Honda, the CPE does the simple stuff very well. If the cost were the same, hands down the Honda would win my vote every time.
