Below my apartment is a pretty area below the stares and in the shadow of a sweet old mulberry tree I alone call Stonewall Park. I leaned a piece of old iron gate against the tree so people can climb into its great inviting arms. I pick up trash here that people don't mind flinging and I build two stonewalls. Not only for the stonewalls is this place called Stonewall Park but also in honor of my hero General Thomas Stonewall Jackson.
Every evening I walk my cat Blue Bell through this enchanted shadow land. And every evening we see a big family flock of mule ear deer. Nightly they migrate from the slopes of Hancock Hill where the night predators will not follow.

Halfway through taping the congregation of these gentle Texans you hear me mentioning to some out of sight kids about my work building the stonewalls. As I say in the video I was letting them know (perhaps not specifically enough) that I didn't want anyone disturbing the stonewalls. They are old fashion, held together by gravity. I've recently seen some of the rocks laying on the ground. I do not mind kids balancing on it, for I did stuff like that as a kid on the stonewalls in Maine, but for Heaven's sake I hope they will grown into respect and repair what their play might destroy.
Nevertheless I am proud of the little park I made. I welcome all children and mule ear deer to prosper and play there.
