@fingerspies You have got SOME nerve. Don`t you know it`s people like us using up our hard-earned electricity to operate the fans that gives you a nice breeze? I just can`t believe the selfishness.

what makes you special that you have to have all the wind just so that you can feel it running through your hair? People like you are the reason why such an important subject (renuable energy) does not get enough attention. Save the planet for next to come...don´t be so selfish I´m sure there is enough wind out there for you to enjoy yourself.

@knowledgemonger You won't weasel out of this one.
.
"There is no way energy can be produced by motion of magnetic poles".
is what you posted. twist and turn like a weasel but it remains intact.

@fingerspies hahaha LOL your lack of knowledge is disturbing.

Nice clip. See video of my rooftop wind turbine project, go have a look if you are interested in home wind turbines. My install of rooftop wind turbines and solar panels at my house is in my videos, Subscribe to my channel if you like, I'll be posting more stuff. Thanks
heyy...how much electricity does this generate???

@anmol004
Have seen it hit about 130w on a 12V system but that takes a fair bit of wind though. Not heaps, but least works and helps generate some extra electricity.
On average, seen around 30 - 40w with normal breezy days.
I guess for my very first home made Mill, not too bad and a fun project.

I love sitting in my backyard on an evening and letting the wind blow through my hair but when people like you are running these devils inventions and using up all the wind there's not a lot left for the likes of me... If it was upto me i would have these banned so that everyone can enjoy the wind instead of people stealing it to drive these!!

I see it gets worse than this for you, as until now you did not know I am stealing the sunshine as well. I am running a nice big solar panel on my roof and am proud of what I have done.

Cheers for the good comments.
The project cost a few hundred to build myself. I bought the DC motor off ebay, bought the TLC blades and used scrapped materials for the rest (Yaw system made with a ford axillary belt pulley. gen mount - welded angle iron. Tail & fin - metal tube and flat tin from an old sign)
Good locations can be tricky to suggest, however as long as you don't get much turbulence, have a constant wind supply, get it high above the surroundings it should work fairly well.

That is thanks to the Tri-Nando MM 35 inch rotor. Worth the money invested and has proven to be a great rotor for the Ametek motor. No one has complained about the generator and we are in an urban environment.
That said, the neighbors have been used to many antennas on the roof here, so nothing would surprise them anymore now. HI HI!
Cheers for the comments.
