I remember lying in bed one early morning in Panama, listening to a Red Ice Radio interview and after the interview they played this song in its entirety. It had been about ten years since I had heard it. I can hardly describe the way that song in the still darkness weaved its way through my mind to where I could feel every note. Knopfler shows us that the space between the notes can be just as important as the notes themselves.

Did you use tabs to play it?

@magikbee Would it be asking a lot if you could post a guitar lesson for this song ?

Excellent!

simply unbelievable! i have achived a similar tone (somehow) with my strat, but the sound of a pensa cannot be matched by anything! so glossy and relaxing, thankyou and well done for this sensational cover of one of MK's most touching songs.
Actually, I love Knopfler but I wasn't set out to get his tone -- I've always been more of a Gibson player. and I was looking for an alternate to my SG's, but I tried this and coudn't put it down. I feel it gives the best of both worlds.

@dougiemunro1 Thanks .... I use Amplitube 3 as a software amp even though I have a Mesa Boogie and a Carr. I have to say most of the tone you're hearing is from the Pensa which is the best investment I've ever made. Knopfler played with a Pensa on most of his early tours. Fabulous instrument.
Thanks for watching!
