Sunlight always kills my video quality, it never looks this good in the sunlight. What am i doing wrong

I've heard that you cannot zoom during a recording, although you can adjust it before starting the recording.

Yep the one downside to the Optio is it doesn't handle sun hitting the lens. Part of the fact it's built for underwater it has a clear plastic cover over the lens. All lenses have issues but the cover tends to make it worse. So I just try to work around it or shade the lens with my hand if I have to shoot towards the sun.
