The ruling ranks of the rich, selfish and fearful are what keeps America thinking socialism is a bad thing. Hardwired to believe that if you're given so much, that everything will be taken from you. Because that is just what the rich, selfish and fearful do when they run things. Take everything.

There was a time in America when the American People considered the concept of going to work to make another man wealthy repugnant. The idea of Wage Labor was considered only one step up from slavery, and it was called Wage Slavery.
The Republican Party ran on a platform of worker ownership of the work place, that Workers as the "Engines of Wealth" had a legal right to own the companies their labor maintained and grew. It took a war to distract the people, and get Capitalism adopted.

@ohsnaplzm I wish Obama was a socialist, instead of a lackey of Wall Street. Socialists do not extend the Bush tax cuts, nor do they continue the Patriot Act. If you want to look at Stalinism, we have it already in this country. The peaceful protestors of occupy Wall Street are attacked by the police, while the Tea Party can come armed to their rallies. Long live the USA, death to capitalism.
