I don't think Lance had the 1 hour record on his mind here. The UCI banned all types of handlebars with the exception of the conventional drop bar. Wheels must be conventional. Here Lance was using a bike and a riding style that would not be allowed for a one hour record attempt. The 1 hour record is presently 30.88 miles. With track bikes, there is no free-wheeling, you cannot stop pedaling. Eddie Mercx, 5x winner of the Tour, said his attempt for the 1 hour record was his hardest ride.

somebody stole his time trial bike in sacramento (where i live). they also stole two other bikes estimate to be worth 15 to 20k. while his time trial bike was said to bee seen as priceless. = there is a reward out for its return. haha, i'm looking for it in between classes
