we have an xserve at our school... I have no idea how they work... I know we have like 20 or 22 imacs booting off of it, i have no clue how they work though lol. We have logins on the server, and... it's just confusing. I am asking my tech head tomorrow how they work. Heh.

Nice setup, but amazing how things change. Two years later and one wouldn't even think of using that much fiber in a small office with the performance of 10GB/s iSCSI or FCoE these days...

@joshbjorge Time capsule is unreliable, slow, and holds only up to 2TB of data. A server is faster, more reliable, and holds a bunch of data.
Very nice guys. My place has all the seperate drive(6TB) like you so I am just moving to a Mac SAN. why Fibre Channel to desktops rather tha Gigabit??. You happy with Mac?Have a successful new year guys. Phil

thanks man.... High Def video is a bit slow over Gigabit when working on multiple machines... but you really pay for that extra speed... so only do it if you need it... or if money is not an issue,,, and if money is not an issue, need a producer? : )
