  • Thanks for the wonderful visual/audio examples of these flutes. In shopping for a flute, this has been extremely helpful in narrowing down and confirming my expectations, especially with platinum risers. Lyrical playing--great!

  • aiki9876: I am so glad you found this helpful. Are you buying a new flute? If so, what are you getting?

  • I'm using a Burkart 19.5K serial number 431, and I do find it sings better than 14k flutes, with a little more oomp to the sound. great playing Nina!

  • dear etulf82: you are one lucky flutist!

  • Hahaha.. you know.. I like 3,9 and 10 the best? So I think I can tell the difference between the metals!!

  • Any schmuck who has studied flute acoustics can tell you internal geometry is what is hugely significant,Not material.Science has been done on this matter, only people don't want to believe it. I own a Burkart flute and love it,but the best flute I ever played was a 19K Hammig. hehe.Nice playing!

  • What's the piece again? I know it, just can't remember the title.

  • Seems to me that in this demo all that was acomplished was the mechanical merits of each particular model. Which realizing that all of these instruments are hand made high-end models, they should all be playing on a quite perfect mechenism. If one wanted to compair the tonal and accoustical qualities of an instrument of different materials, I would recomend demonstrating long tones in each of the registers in various dynamics and shadings. I'm not sure, has this been done before?

  • Hello Nina im planing on buying a new flute but i dont know which on to get a Brio B3 or a Azumi 3000 series i love both but dont know which one to get the Brio sound urban and the azumi sounds very nature like weird way of puting it but its the way i hear it i would love your advice on wich one to buy thanks.

  • I have one like #7. Lovely all of them, but you soound better on your flute. It produces more of a big warm sound than the gold, and silver ones.

  • u know that its hard to different them with this distance? gold flute is mostly made for people who play in orchester or band for a warm but big sound.

and it depends on the maker too.

for exemple powell sounds much more than a muramatsu or yamaha but it has a not that clean sound than them.

  • tanks!!!

  • If I don't move my arms start to hurt.

  • I own a Sonare B foot off set g,708
