As an officer's wife, I have witnessed the strife an officer has to endure. It is a thankless and sometimes degrading job. The public feels an officer is there to cause them stress even though the officer would prefer never to have to deal with people in that manner. As this gentleman so points out, it is the small acts of kindness that sometimes, so very rarely, makes their profession rewarding. Its a shame death had to bring his worth back to him.
