2 spectacular 1974 cents that I pulled from bank wrapped rolls while hunting through a box. It's not just the oldies that are fun to find. 35 year old spectacular shaped coins.

  • I'm just as happy to find a spectacular shape penny from the 60's or 70's as I am to find a 1915. I just pulled a star serial number $5 dollar bill from circulation.

  • Aren't they only worth a penny? Not being snotty... Just asking!

  • I don't know how familiar you are with the coin collecting world. There is a publication called "the Coin Dealer Newsletter", commonly referred to as "The Greysheet" which shows current pricing on coins from a dealer's perspective. FYI, "Coins" magazine lists a 1974 Cent in MS65 condition at $12.00. "Coin Values" magazine lists it at $10.00, with an MS67 being $40.00. My grading says this coin is between and MS65-MS67. The value will continue to rise over time.

  • I just peed myself!

  • those are really good. i've found a 1972 in a bank roll in about the same condition.

  • @Markaroni1952 No coin is uncirculated once it is opened form its roll.

  • I have no idea why but it seems all the 1974 i find are always perfect.

  • Not to be a debbie downer but no one is going to pay $12 for an MS65 or MS67 1974. You can buy a BU roll of them for about $6 on eBay.

  • Nice find! Just read your response, and its definitely something to be proud about.

Did you look through them one by one? I doubt you can tell them apart like silver.

What are some other prized penny?
