  • @BrianGriffin83 and @rung3000 I pity intolerant people like you who obviously have a warped view of the world, and can't accept change. Everyone has different tastes, and for you two imbeciles to suggest that there is something wrong with the other versions of this song to fit the different tastes of people just showcases your ignorance. I happen to enjoy all versions of this song, and if you don't there's no need to call the other versions "tasteless" or "rubbish"

  • damn, I like this version the best

  • I prefer Anne Murray's version... But this is not bad at all

  • I like both versions; However I am more used to Roberta Flack. It's a pity that none of the Lori Lieberman early albums has been reissued in CD

  • I love this.

  • This is the version I heard about a year before Roberta Flack's. I like it better because to me it sounds more intimate and less produced. I had the good fortune to hear Lori sing this in person and it was magical.

  • @PottyEsq I remember hearing this song in Los Angeles on KNX-FM and only that station toward the end of 1972. I think Flack's was more commercially successful because she was a more well-known (bankable) artist. She'd just had a fairly big hit with "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" so it was probably just business as usual in the recording industry. Compared to Lori Lieberman's version, which I had the privilege to hear sung live, Roberta's is over-produced and commercial. (My opinion)

  • @tekeia2 Interesting comment. I heard and loved this version of the song before hearing Roberta Flack's. Can you describe what constitutes the "soul" she puts into hre version? To me the "soul" that this version has is its intimacy.

  • Wow!

  • completely fuck the song up. criminal

  • Since i know the true story behing that song i listen with different ears.....
