  • Japhy Ryder, my hero! There's nothing like hearing the voices of authors you admire. This guy is a legend!

  • I watched the entire video and after an hour an 17 minutes I still want to see more. I can't believe he said he felt like he wasn't able to get through to people as a teacher! Gary's ideas cut straight through my urban shell and helped me to see my "place in space" as well as my connection to the living, breathing, vastness around (and within) me.

  • @emberlivingood A real open expression of your love for the high and wild country that inhabits the soul of those who recognized the power of the great Sierra Nevada.

  • Thank You

  • Poetry! what a rich heritage.

  • Sorry, I found the insistent, frustrated baby an unfortunate distraction.

  • I really enjoyed listening to Gary's poetry and found him to be an engaging speaker as well. I get the feeling he would be a great guy to meet and chat with. Now I want to find some more of his work!

  • As odd as this may seem, I believe he is the Gary Snyder who replaced my 6th grade English teacher for a while.

  • @ about 58 minutes- what a (for me) weird, annoying question(?). sophomoric babble coming to nothing which is exacerbated by the loud baby. convoluted attempt at describing zazen (from the woman, i mean).

  • Gary

    is

    IT!

  • @emberlivingood

    AMEN

  • @Molokai17 If we refer to the Dharma bums, by Kerouac, Gary Snyder did meet William Burroughs.
