whats the notes of the strings from bottom to top? i have a hammered dulcimer with 18 sets of tuning pegs on each side. but i cant find anything to tell me what the bottom note is and then what each string is. and it only has two bridges like yours in this video.

I am bought a student model hammer dulcimer at a garage sale really cheap but now I don't know how to tune it... I understand the techniques described in this helpful video, but what is the scale of the tuning? Are there "standard" & "alternate" tunings?

oh wait, my impatience came back to bite me you just said they stay in tune a lot longer in the vid due to the stiff tuning pegs so forget what I said!

do these go out of tune quickly? like some bad guitars, they go out of tune reeeaaal quick. Just curious as I'm contemplating buying one as I adore the sound, but if I'm gonna be tuning it every 10 minutes... it'll drive me insane!

@MrMegatube the khim is the thai adaptation of the dulcimer. they differ slightly
