This is me, testing my newly bought BenQ s21 video camera.
This video was shot in Full HD mode, in which the zoom function is not available.
It shoots at; 1920x1080@30FPS.

So far I am really happy with this camera, the only thing that might be considered a small drawback, is that the colors captured, are a little less vibrant than they are in real life. But I guess that can easily be fixed by any decent video editing software.
Then again, you can't expect miracles from a camera like this, but I consider it a perfect camera for a beginner or occasional user such as me!
Also as you are able to hear, there is no jitter in the sound, which is noticeable in the few test videos from others on youtube. I was kinda worried that such thing might be the bad recording capabilities of the camera, but it turned out that such thing wasn't the case :D It actually records everything amazingly accurate!
This thing set me back only €119, which is $168 USD.
Making it much value for your money!

Do watch my other videos, where I test it at 720p and 480p which include the digital zoom function.

  • i have a doubt... this camera makes .mov archives only?

  • @tetryut Yes the video files are only .MOV

  • @FreakyRik93 what do you think about BenQ m23?

  • @tetryut

I don't know much about the camera, but my guess is that it is a slighly better version than the S21. I think it uses the same image sensor, and so it is not so good in low light conditions. But at least this one has optical zoom, so that is good.

  • how long you can record in 720 and 1080?

  • @MrAMiCRAZY

That depends on the battery, the mode and the SD card that you have installed in the camera.

But for instance, when leaving the battery out of the equation the camera can do:

    02:40hrs @ 1080p @ 8GB SD

    04:01hrs @ 720p @ 8GB SD

Also I do recommend buying 2 extra batteries, they can hold out way longer than AA batteries and they cost you around 10 bucks a piece, well worth it, for they are more powerfull than the original!

  • @FreakyRik93 Well, i bought benq m23... it makes .mov files but.. when i edit them by "sonyvegas", files take up more size...

  • @FreakyRik93 Thanks for the reply, and even if your house is smaller then it looks from outside, it still looks very classy. I'm looking forward to seeing the results of your vacation, as I've also seen your night vision test of this camera, which looks amazing! Anyways, I'm sure I'll want something better in the time, but as for now, I'm looking extremely excited to buying this camera. Good luck on your vacation, bring back some good footage! ;)

Thanks for your comment! The size of the house isn't actually all that big :P from left to right only the part which is seperated by the conifers to the Waterhose on the fence, is actually my house, but its 2 houses under one roof so it looks big.

It is not too bad of a camera, but only as your very first, once you start filming very often, you'd want something better pretty quickly.

I am going to greece on vacation in a month, and the camera is going! results shall be shown!
