@j12torts Manila looks MUCH better than Calcutta or most Indian cities. Its a very Southeast Asian city.
Other cities like Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh and Bangkok resemble Manila in many places.
An older Japanese colleague of mine visited Manila and said it very much reminded her of Osaka during the Japanese economic boom in the 60s-80s, when there were rich areas, malls, BUT many slums made from bamboo and iron sheeting. The only thing Japanese cities retain from then is the high density of houses.

filipinos are craving for a better country i hope the politicans can see that.
i was compaing my trip to calcutta india and manila, and i noticed filipinos have more sense of order than the indians do.

@dmitrivalencia --- I did like you roads, too much traffic, because of jeepneys and tricycles, but I was not driving, only my filipina girlfriend did. I came back with 15 hours of videos; you may watch the other ones. I went there twice, 14 weeks all together. Unforgettable to me. Thanks fo watching.
