and from Xc belonged to Pomeranian Dukes.

From 1282 Gdańsk belonged to Poland.

German Influences were dated from 1308 when Teutonic Order take this City and murdered citizens.

1454 Gdańsk back to Polish Kingdom.

1793 Prussia incorporated Gdańsk during Second Partinion of Poland.

You should appreciate, this is very rare. Most people in the world would certainly not praise the nation who has kicked them out forever. Gunther Grass is not greatest hero, but i think he is good person. Whats your problem with him,. SS-membership ? Russians, French, British and Americans commited same atrocities like SS.
