  • @petervagt I may be making some more. I will let you know when I do.

  • You adjusted and fired up the drill to put a little hole in the lid of a tin can? What's the world coming to?

  • @ratbertovich Never occurred to you that it was already plugged in and out for another project? Sorry but I don't feel like stabbing at it with a sharp tool. That is what drills are for.

  • Did you leave the edge of the steel smooth or with cross cutting?

  • @TheBeebopper Not exactly sure what you mean. The edges are sanded to be sharp, while also able to provide sparks for strike a lights.

  • make me a striker like yours with a hole at the end, sorry 4 the missstake.

  • can u please make me 1 like yours with a hole please and post to me

  • @Fridabeekman they last quite awhile but the sparks are low temp so char cloth is a definite. a fire steel has hot sparks that will easily light tinder directly, this is one step up from a bow drill

  • smart little tool.

  • I'm gonna try this

  • Good deal

  • @SkogKniv I meant for the flint use, I've seen tooled cuts made across the striking face. Vey slim cuts about 1/8" apart as best as I can remember. A variation is to have the striking face punched before levelling. Supposed to be easier to get a spark, but its been some time since I handled one and that was worn anyway.

  • How long does a flint last? is it superior to an army firesteel?

  • i tend to use worn out tshirts and boxers and a nice little striker tool
