If Horses Were Cowboys

Not always for the good nor for the better, change is still inevitable. And, even when change involves loss, there are those special elements integral to our lives that will always be worth remembrance and celebration.

A small yet important part of the American heart is slowly fading away. To paraphrase a line from this composition: "we're losing our horses and the old cowboy ways". Because we come from so many walks of life, many of us may not understand the bond that forms between rider and horse, yet it is as real as you and I.

I wrote this song because dear friends of mine were losing their horses and ranch to a bad economy -- they were being forced to make a choice between family or the horses. I promise you it was not a choice made lightly or without heartfelt sacrifice.

So, I dedicate this video and song to them and to all the men and women who choose to buck the changing times so that they might preserve the world of horses and ranching for one more day. America will not be the same if we lose this precious slice of life. God Bless!
