Nvidia fanboys are a lot worse, though. They flat out lie and make up benchmark results. But anyway, the AMD Radeon HD 4770 competes with the 9800GT and the GTS 250. And it's a great over-clocking card, too.

With good cooling, you can get it to 870MHz Core Clock (stock is 750MHz) and 4GHz Memory Clock (up from 3.2GHz).

I don't know what competitor from nvidia has that hd4770 . but i have to say that the card rocks! My bro got it in his new pc and damn ..i was amazed! I could mostly go around the highest detail on a 22" monitor. He wanted to buy a powerful card but as i'm his tech guy , i told him that the hd 4770 will do its job just fine!

Not to take sides or anything, but the 9800GT can easily oc to 1200MHz (core clock), a bit more than the 4770.

Higher memory bandwidth (Memory clock) is much important in these GPUs than Core clock speed since they're limited to around 60GB/s of memory bandwidth.

While the 9800GT may have a 256-bit interface, that can't be over-clocked, while you can over-clock the GDDR5 memory a lot on the 4770. It goes easily from 3.2GHz to 4.1GHz (and the memory chips are rated for 4GHz).

Yeah who gives a shit.
My graphics card does what I ask it to, and I'm not in the market for another one, so the fanboys are just an annoyance.

I have an nVidia fwiw, but I would just as soon use an ATI, as long as it has good OpenGL support.

I think the Xbox 360 only has DX9 hardware but don't quote me on that.
