The sector gear was worn, making it impossiblble to steer so I replaced it. Sorry it isn't up close. I didn't have time to keep moving the camera and zoom in. This isn't an instructional video so don't comment with your complaints, please.

  • On mine, the gear sector is fan shaped. It didn't go on the rod. Then the gear on the steering shaft assembly (which is what I'm thinking you're saying you'll have to hammer on) is all one piece. So no, I didn't have to hammer it on the rod. Hope this helps!

  • Did you have any problems getting the gear sector back on the rod? I'm in the process of doing the same repair ... I think I'll have to hammer in back on the rod :(
