John Snow - brilliant doctor from 19th century Soho

John Snow the doctor who discovered the cause of fouled water killing so many people in soho was Cholera from this pump and having the water system changed. He is remembered by the placing of a plaque by the water fountain in Broadwick Street and the pub named after him.

  • @ato137528 I noticed that - looks like someone has leaned on it too hard or just nicked it. Still there 'ain't' water coming out of it so the spread of cholera is prevented!!

  • Very good! It is so fitting that he should be commemorated in a pub because beer saved a lot of lives during the cholera outbreaks. It's a great pub as well; Sam Smith's beer at only £1.99 a pint! Thanks for uploading.
