I live in Oklahoma, and my Carolina dog's ancestors came along the Trail of Tears with the Cherokee tribe when they were relocated from the Carolinas and Georgia to here over a hundred and fifty years ago. You can see Carolina dogs in Native American art from the Southeastern US tribes predating the Pilgrims by hundreds of years.

@llproductions: Carolina Dogs are wild dogs found throughout the Southeast. Please not the difference between "wild" dogs, which have never been domesticated, and "feral" dogs, which are domesticated dogs which are living in the wild.
Carolina Dogs are called "The American Dingo" because they (a) bear a strong physical resmeblance to Dingoes, and (b) because they exhibit many primal behaviors common to dingoes, but which domesticated breeds have lost, like digging scent holes, ...
